Coming soon farm fresh brown eggs and quality rabbit meat

We had to sell all our meat animals before we relocated to Virginia in November of 2011. The pictures presented here are the animals we had and sold. We plan to purchase breeding stock to start up for personal meat production and some will be sold on a first come first served basis.
We do not cage our meat animals. They are raised as natural as possible.

We plan on purchasing Katahdin haired sheep for our meat production. Easy keepers, high dress out percentages and excellent mothers. They are supposed to be very hardy and since they are a haired sheep there is no need to shear them.
* 1/29/12 We decided that we would hold off on starting up with the sheep. Horses Helping Hearts (HHH) is a high priority and will take a lot of finances to get up and running and time so have to be realistic on what I can do.

We plan on purchasing Silver Fox rabbits again for meat. They are a rare breed. I chose them because of their pelt and their size. Full grown adults weigh 10-12 lbs and mature early.
* 1/29/12 confirmed with my SF breeder that I am in line to get 1 buck and 2 does this spring. He currently has two litters just born. I am excited! I am so looking forward to eating our own home grown meat.

I plan on starting my egg production with the Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island red stock again. I was very happy with what they were producing before I had to sell them. I have also decided to purchase Australorps as well. They are a brown egg layer and are considered excellent egg producers and are supposed to be hot weather tolerant. I will be purchasing 6 of those too. I will have 12 egg laying chickens and will have eggs available for purchase on a first come first serve basis.

* 1/29/12 I ordered my Rhode Island and Plymouth Rock chicks online. They are to be delivered the week of February 27. Can't wait! Now I got to find me some baby Australorps so everyone is the same age.
